Free dog field session
Each booking (of a 7 day or more stay) will receive a free one hour session on our dog field, including the use of fun agility equipment, during their stay.
Guests will also receive a discount if they wish to book additional sessions for themselves and their dogs. Our dog field is on site so you need only walk your dogs less than 100 feet from the Lodge to reach it. It is fully enclosed, with 6ft close board and panel fencing, and is mainly laid to artificial grass.
Early arrivals and late departures
Our usual arrival time is 4pm onwards but if there are no guests departing that morning, a 2pm arrival time may be possible. Please ask if you would like to book this.
Our usual departure time is 10am but if no guests are arriving later that day, a 12 noon departure time may be possible. Please ask if you would like to book this.

- To bring your dogs free of charge, with no restriction on breed or numbers
- Your own paddock surrounding the Lodge, enclosed by 6 ft solid wood fence (panel and close board).
- Your own car park next to the accommodation and set behind 6ft wooden gates so you can load and unload at your leisure
- Countryside walks on the doorstep, including lakes and the River Wear
- A country pub that serves great food (incl. takeaways) a 5 minute walk away
- The ability to be able to leave your pets for up to 4 hours whilst you go out
The Lodge sleeps 4, all gas and electricity is included (no meters to feed) and we’re 100% pet friendly – no extra charge for your four legged friends and no limit on numbers or breed either. Dogs love it here! They are welcome in all areas of the Lodge.
There is also an outside tap/hose and rigid paddling pool plus 2 kennels for drying off or just chilling. The countryside walks include 2 lakes and the River Wear
only a 5 minute walk away. Hamsterley Forest (2,000 hectares with a great cafe that does great food)is a 20 minute drive and of course we’re a great base for visiting
The Lakes, Northumberland
and Yorkshire.
Marisa is a council licensed and fully insured dog sitter with 40 years of experience in training and looking after dogs.
